Smoked salmon

Smoked salmon can be served in two different ways. It can be hot smoked or cold smoked. Cold smoked salmon is referred to as lox.

Cold smoked salmon is the most common type of salmon served. It is found as an appetizer at weddings and dinner parties. It is also commonly found at Jewish functions such as bar mitzvahs and bat mitzvahs.

Cold smoked salmon has become so popular that chain restaurants now serve it. In Virginia, Bodo's Bagels has made it one of their mainstays. Breugger's bagels, a national coffee and lunch restaurant also serves cold smoked salmon.
