Halibut
Many sporting fishermen love to catch halibut and cook
it themselves. However, catching halibut is no easy task. They are a
strong fighting fish.
Halibut are bottom feeders and you need a day chart and a sounder to
locate their habitat. The edged of a bank or reef are good spots to
find halibut. Use your chart to find water that is 50 feet to 200 feet
deep for fishing.
If you fish on the West Coast the possession limit for halibut is a
maximum of three. While there are no size restrictions, fishermen generally
only keep anything under 32 inches. And remember, while you may be thinking
ahead to a great dinner, always pay attention to safety while seeking
your prey.
